COVID-19 mobile vaccination bus heads to Honolulu Zoo and Pearlridge Center this weekend


    The Hawaii Pacific Health COVID-19 Vax Squad bus returns to the Honolulu Zoo this Friday. The bus will be parked from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at gate 6 of the zoo on avenue Monsarrat. A bus will also be heading to Pearlridge Center this Saturday.

Hawaii Pacific Health will bring its COVID-19 Vax Squad mobile bus to the Honolulu Zoo again this Friday.

The bus will be parked from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at gate 6 of the zoo on avenue Monsarrat. Both walk-in for first doses and scheduled appointments will be available. Free entry to the zoo will be offered to those who make an appointment for a vaccine.

Since HPH first launched its COVID-19 Vax Square mobile on May 6, it has administered more than 10,000 doses of the vaccine.

For the week ending July 11, HPH administered nearly 23,898 doses at its Pier 2 vaccination center, Vax Squad mobile clinics and the Wilcox Medical Center vaccination center in Kauai.

Mobile clinics are still scheduled across Oahu throughout the summer.

The Vax Squad bus will make its first trip from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday at the Pearlridge Center, where vaccines will be available for people 12 and older. The bus will be parked on the second floor of Pearlridge Mauka between Hickam Federal Credit Union and Genki Sushi.

Mobile vaccination clinics are also planned this Saturday at Ka Makana Alii in Kapolei, this Sunday at the Aloha Stadium Swap Meet and on August 7 at the Wakele Shopping Center.

The mobile clinic will return to the Pearlridge Center and Ka Makana Alii on Saturday July 24.
